When we least expect it.

Things always move slow this time of year. Finding people to commit to a cause is difficult. The excuses are numerous. One lady, a lecturer, replied when asked if she could contribute by training others in God's word so as to equip them for evangelism. How many are you? The problem is you are not from my church. I must say that after meeting with several prominent people in my community and hearing what they had to say, my heart was downcast. One of my lecturers always used to say," When God calls He also equips". Perseverance - came to mind. I know that God desires us all to run the race to the end, but what if our hearts are downcast. Well my heart was downcast for a while. The strange thing is that during this most difficult time several of my dear friends who know my heart and see the calling on my life out of the blue began telephoning me to find out how I was. It was a wonderful confirmation to me as I knew at that moment that this is part of the learning experience I am to go through. It is not for me to motivate people to make themselves available to God to win souls but the working of the Holy Spirit. I knew that the Father wanted me to just be still and know that He is God.

I am a mother of two children. My house is often full with friends of my children. My daughter wanted to sleep over at a friends house but you know that nagging feeling mothers get. Well I made a decision that they would rather sleep over at our house. I had settled in for the evening and started wrapping christmas present for my friends when all of a sudden a frantic cry came from the dining room, "Mom you better come and help here, my friend has so many questions". On entering the dining room my daughter and her friend were sitting with the Bible. Her friend had asked her help on how to have a relationship with the living God. She choose to read from John 1. Oh how great is my God, worthy of praise. As the young girl began to ask questions the plan of the Father came into full view. Tonite was the night that this little girl was going to be saved. As we shared from scripture the will of God for her life she prayed the sinners prayer. After our time of prayer and her receiving Jesus as her saviour she stopped and looked striaght at me and said;" Why does everything look so much brighter and clearer".. Dear friends the glory of God filled that room and His presence was tangible. When I got back into my bedroom my husband was praying. His first words were," Who thought that tonite when we least expected it God would move through his saving grace".

To my Father all glory and honour to Him. I love Him so dearly because He first loved me. I want to be available and sensitive to the moving of His Holy Spirit. Now what about you? When last did you say to the Father, "Here I am Father send me".

Lots of love in Christ Jesus
